This variety of rice is known for its extraordinary grain length, which can be as much as 8.4 millimeters (0.33 in) for a single grain, It has a very high grain elongation ratio. When cooked, the rice does not turn sticky, possesses minimum breadthwise expansion, and is aromatic.
It was developed by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) and released for commercial cultivation in the season of 2003. By 2007, the variety has become widely popular with farmers.
KOLIMI 1509 Basmati Rice is naturally sweat, with grain length of 8.30mm+, with 13% moisture, 2% broken, color white-creamy, Golden, and white.
